Welcome Back

As we occasionally look over the blog, it’s enjoyable to see little memories of our life. As the kids are growing the blog is a great reminder of those little baby faces.

We want to remember these times. We know it goes fast. How fun will it be to remember these little snippets of our lives.

So here we are again. And this time not because some one is sick or something is wrong. Just the Hannon family, sharing our lives.

If you are new around here, feel free to check out a couple of our kids stories. Up top there are tabs for Ezra, who is living with Spina Bifida, and Esther who died from Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.
We will work on organizing the blog a little better for the other kids as well.

Soon I will update important memories from over the past 2 years.

Getting ready

This should have been posted earlier, but I broke the blog. Thankfully, Dave knows how to fix those things, so here we are.

We have been busy these last few weeks. Trying to get everything ready, having some fun family time, talking with he kids about the baby and the move.

A couple weeks ago we took the kids to the indoor water park. They had a blast. Noelle took to the water right away. She just loved it, a little too much sometimes. She scared me a few times with her bravery but we were right there with her. Ezra loved splashing and playing in the shallow water. I hope this summer he builds more confidence in the water. Once he is comfortable he loved it. Atreyu loved playing too , and could have spent all day there. He hates getting his head wet, but once he realized it’s just bound to happen he got over that really fast. Ezra and Noelle went down the huge slide with Dave.

It was so much fun to spend that time together.

Last weekend we started packing. Well Dave started packing, he doesn’t let me do much. Which I need because I do not want this baby to come early and there have been some days that scare me with how many Braxton hicks/contractions I am having. It’s hard because I want to help but I know it’s best for the baby to just relax and grow a baby.

Memorial weekend was spent packing up the rest of the house and enjoy the beautiful weather we were having. The movers came this week to move everything into storage, and we headed down to Grand Rapids Friday. We are so blessed to have a place to stay while we wait for the baby to come.

Overall we have a peace from God about everything that is going on. We know He has it handled, whatever may happen. But it is still emotional for us. Thankfully, we are reminded of great promises from God’s word. Here are a few we keep turning too during this time.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. (Isaiah 43:2 ESV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your hearts be troubled neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12)

Florida Vacation

We had a great week in Florida with our family. Most of our pictures look like this, because all we mostly did was hang out at the pool.

We decided to drive down from Michigan to Florida. The boys did great. We stopped every couple hours to get out and move a little. Then drove through the night. It was exhausting but we were so happy when we arrived.

We did get out a few times to go through Downtown Disney and visit an Orange orchard. Too bad it wasn’t orange season. We look forward to many more trips to Florida.

Atreyu update

It seems like every week Atreyu is growing up so much! And is as goofy as ever. This is his favorite voice to do when he gets really silly.

Atreyu got his first bike. Since we have had a couple of warm days we were able to get outside and ride his bike. He talks about his bike all the time.

Atreyu is talking so much more now too. And he is pretty much potty trained. yeah, growing up so quick.

Here is Dave and Atreyu doing their fire truck rodeo. These boys have so much fun together.

Getting Stronger

I feel like every day Ezra is getting stronger and stronger. Here is a video of him playing around the end of January.
He is doing good but still a little wobbly. You can see it in the beginning, I didn’t cut the video’s down.

and here he is about 6 weeks later. He is doing so much better. He still needs to get stronger but it is nice to see him improving.

One of our next steps is to turn one of those chairs into a wheelchair so he can get around the house and outside this summer. He will be so stinkin cute!

Ezra continues to have doctor appointments to follow up with his progress. Right now these appointments are just to make sure nothing is wrong, which from what we know, nothing is wrong.

Right now we do lots of PT. Usually 3 times a week. Thankfully 2 of those times they come to my house. We stretch him a lot, working on rolling and just getting him stronger.

Here is Ezra doing some stretching and playing on the Ipad.

We had a follow up with the eye doctor and they said Ezra looks great with his glasses. He still pulls them down a lot but they say once he relaxes his eyes he will start to prefer them. He gets lots of compliments about how adorable he is. Which he is.

Since his eyes are already starting to straighten out, we don’t need to patch one eye to make the other stronger as of now. We will check back in 6 months.

Sorry for the slow blog, it’s just there really is nothing new. Just the normal everyday life of my 2 boys growing up.
